Education and our quest for knowledge characterize us as individuals and in turn shape the society and the environment that we live in. Children are our future and the future of Our Nation.
On April 8, 2018, Pratheeksha held a get-together of the mentees, their guardians and school officials in the Rotary Club, Kazhakoottam, Tvm. The program was chaired and inaugurated by Rtn. V. Anil Nath, president of the Rotary Club. Welcome speech was given by Mr Vishnu Prasad, representative of Pratheeksha. Felicitation speech was given by Rtn. Johnson Peter along with which he spoke a few words about the history of Rotary club and his childhood struggles and memories. Rtn. Somanath S Nair then gave a speech about the objectives and works of The Club. Rtn. Pallippuram Jayakumar, being a school teacher himself, encouraged the works done by Pratheeksha and helped in the overall management of the event.
The events included cultural programs done by the children present for the event. A group song by Meera, Anagha, Akhila and Gayathri of BVG, followed by a solo singing performance by Geethy Raj from Panacode and a wonderful dance performance by Sruthi of PKSHS were some of the performances.
J Squad is a group of people who sponsored the educational kits which were to be given to the students. They then came forward, introduced themselves and narrated on what made them decide on doing such a thing. They then entertained the gathered by dancing with the tiny tots. Subsequently, the Educational Kits for the succeeding year were distributed to the students as per their class. Finally, a photograph was taken with all the happy faces captured in the frame.
