Today we saw a ray of hope

“Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for future”.

We often hear this statement. Don’t we?? But honestly, how many of us actually take time out to help children in need? At Srishti, we are taught to be sensitive towards children who are in need. The best way to be sensitive to other people’s feelings is to listen carefully to what they have to say and to speak kindly and understand their needs.

Pratheeksha, a Srishti initiative focuses on providing children with quality education and healthcare, and an environment to develop holistically. By providing the right combination of educational and health support, Pratheksha aims to inspire dreams among those who, otherwise, do not stand a chance.

As part of our 9th Foundation day celebrations, we planned a get together of sponsored kids under Pratheksha, at our Srishti office. Around 26 kids were able to attend the programme along with teachers. We made an opportunity to make them meet and talk to their foreign sponsors through skype. It was really a pleasure to watch their conversations.
We provided them with breakfast which was followed by a small meeting where our CEO, Mr Krishnadas Pisharam, Mrs Preetha Mohan, Executive Director, Mr Nizam and Mr Vishnu Prasad gave their insights on Pratheksha and its activities.

We found some of the kids to be very talented and a special mention to be given to Ms Nithuna who entertained us with her melodious song. Similarly, there were other kids who were equally talented and their songs were recorded, to be played in this week’s company FM..’Radio Friday”. Kids were surprised to receive gifts which were given away by CEO, Mr Krishnadas Pisharam, Mrs Preetha Mohan (Executive Director) and Mr Lallu Chandran (Project Manager). Children were made to wish their Teacher’s on account of Teacher’s Day. Some of our employees took the initiative to buy sweets for the children. A group photo was taken to make this special moment memorable forever.

All the kids were given the liberty to move around in our office. Employees voluntarily took up the responsibility of explaining to them how an IT company work as a team and showed them the different departments. This initiative was made to give them exposure and create awareness, with the hope that they will be encouraged to do well in their studies and achieve their goals.

We bid goodbye to them, with the hope of training them to fulfil their aspirations for the future, identifying their talents and encouraging their interest in arts and science through various programmes. We also aim to create future leaders by building the leadership qualities of the children we work with.

“We may not be able to prepare the future for our children but we can at least prepare our children for the future”
