“We need to teach the next generation of children from day one that they are responsible for their lives.”
It is not always what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do themselves, that will make them successful human beings. Pratheksha, a Srishti initiative focuses on the upliftment of children who need financial aid for education and medical treatments. There are many children under the sponsorship of Pratheksha and they receive their nourishment from worldwide.
We believe that providing financial aid is not the only responsibility of volunteers who are associated with Pratheksha. It is also necessary to be in touch with their parents and schools to keep a track on how well they are doing. Yesterday our Pratheksha volunteers Vishnu Prasad & Parvathy visited V.K.Kani Govt. School, Panacode and Navajyothi Special School, Amboori. They had an interesting interactive session with the sponsored children. The volunteers did enquire and made a note on the performance of the children, their attendance and their report cards. This will also motivate the students to perform better and make them realise that it’s their responsibility to do well in studies and other activities.
Pratheksha will go on doing this service as they believe that “Children need to learn to take responsibility for their actions, so that they do not become adults believing that nothing is ever their fault.”
